e92 exhaust on e90?

hello all,

another question for you all: has any tried to fit an e92 exhaust onto an e90? this is the section after the downpipes. i'd like to buy a used exhaust from someone on this forum, but can't find an answer. someone has put an e90 exhaust onto an e92, and it fit flush with the bumper.

thanks!

I'm pretty sure it will fit, but from what I've heard it will stick pretty far out the back, since the result of E90 exhaust on E92 is the opposite.

I thought the tips on an E92 exhaust just protruded more, and that was really the only issue. I could be wrong though.

+1 all the hangers fit, but the tips will be sticking out a couple inches more.

Exactly what everybody said. If you really want you can always just shorten it by a couple inches right before the tips.

I remember reading that somebody put an e92 exhaust on an e90. I cant remember which company it was but they sent him a new H pipe which was shorter to make it work.

There have been people who have made aftermarket exhausts fit by hacking out a couple inches just before the tips.

There was a guy selling a nice e92 exhaust he'd had on his e90 and explained it perfectly. Even made a picture with red circles around the area where he modified.

I can't say this will absolutely be true for every exhaust meant for e92, but I'm pretty sure it's ok for the most part.

Hahaha... that was me! Glad to see that my explanation and drawings made sense.
