Motul Engine Oil
Anyone use this stuff?
What's the diff between: 8100 X-Max 5W30 - LL01 rated 8100 X-Clean 5W40 - LL04 rated Does LL04 mean it is a better oil or is it more for different engines (eg. diesel, euro engines, etc.)? Finally, for the occasional track day, would 5W40 weight be better... Would love to try the 300v, but it is too expensive! Thanks all. |

I am a big fan of the XPR racing by RP since my 335i is a September 2006, no oil cooler. Since I put that magic into my engine oil's temperature can't just go any higher of 120 degrees celsius no matter what I mean, to get 122 degrees I have to drive for no less that 15 minutes in DS mode, second-third-second-third hitting the limiter over and over again. Before the XPR any spirited driving meant 130 degrees celsius easy

I didn't think Cdn Tire has the Euro version of Castrol Syntec. AFAIK, the primary source for Euro Castrol is BMW dealerships themeselves. In any event, I'm pretty sure the BMW dealership oil is cheaper than $9.99L. |

If you really want Motul, there's the LL-04 Specific 5W-40...but I assume it's probably similar to the X-Clean since it's also LL-04 and 5W-40?

It's castrol syntec. It says made in Germany on the back of the bottle Nate. Better than the dealer oil. Go to bobistheoilguy.com and read reviews.
