Golf Tee question.

I know no one cares anymore, but I was just wondering sense you will throw a code if you disconnect it through the trunk is it possible for you to just plug it back in, and then disconnect your battery for a minute then the code will be gone? Or does it store?

Afaik the code is stored until it is cleared. Clearing can't be done by unplugging the battery.

by unplugging the actuator wire in the trunk you basically achieve the same thing as you would by messing with the vacuum hose on the exhaust.

Really? So does it not always throw a code? Or does your dealer just not care.

It does throw a code. Dealers just do not care. Actually, from reading posts, some of them do and plug it back in for you.

That doesn't mean all dealers wont care though. And your supposed to plug it back in before you go from what I've read.

the way these cars are made the slightest loss of current will trigger a code. but plug it in just to be safe and if they bring it up (which i highly doubt), act like you have no idea that wire even existed.

Well yea I knew that but i thought that was called something else and the actual golf tee mod required an actual golf tee that kept the valve open?

Same effect, different ways to achieve it. If crawling underneath and sticking an actual golf tee there looks easier to you than unplugging a connector in the trunk, then go for it.

Easier in the sense that it doesn't throw a code.

Not sure about that - many dealer shop technicians are trained to check for these things.

It's not that big of a deal. Since unplugging triggers a code, I just clamp off my hose and leave it at that. I have been to the dealers numerous times, and they could careless about this mod.
