Any 335i owners wish they had an e46 m3?

Drove a friend of mine's m3 over the weekend and fell in love with it. There seems to be so much more of a connection to the car and though i missed the gobs of torque available in the modded e92 it was more challenging and visceral. Didn't know if anyone shared my thoughts on this.

That's the exact opposite I heard from the E46 owners I lapped recently

Just upgrade control arms sways and bushings with the new M3 one and you have a car that handles better that the old m3

I went from an e46 M3 to the e90 335 mainly because we were starting a family and I needed the 4 doors. It's a really fun car but the torque and power in a tuned 335 blows doors.

Everytime I see one...but then I love having the piece of mind that the 335 is faster and I have a warranty.

I sold my e46 M (headers, straight pipes, intake, tune etc) for my e92 335. I love having the tq from the n54 but the M top end was always fun. throw FI on the M and now it's a tough call...

My JB3 alone made my e92 faster...DP's and FMIC in the near future will eliminate any thought of my M

Not really but the e46 M3 is still one of my all time favorite cars. Still think it's the best looking BMW except maybe the 8 series. Instant classic.

+1

When I went car shopping I almost bought an E46 over my current car, but knowing that in 2 years I wanted a 335i I was afraid that I would have fallen too deeply in love with the E46 to let it go. Plus I really wanted a warranty, and I could not find a reasonable CPO in my area.

As nice as it is. i raced my buddies m3 with exhaust against my 335 with jb3 map 7 tune. I put so many cars on him it wasnt even cool. KWv2 and control arms and now your suspension is even better than the e46

i had a e46 m3 before the 335 and i really loved it, but its not even close to the my tuned 335 if we talk hp and tourque....but the handling and the raw feeling of the e46 M3 is superb...and the smgII was flawless...i miss it sometimes....i had the chance to testdrive the e92 m3 but it was not close to the feeling i had with the e46....
