325 speaker size question

I posted before with no answers.. Does anyone know the speaker size for the front, rear and under the seat subs. I dont want to take the doors off yet until I buy new speakers. I have standard audio system. Also, has anyone already upgraded and have any good suggestions?

Logic 7 is the "Top-Hifi" option

HiFi is the standard USA 325i system

Here are where the 13 speakers are located in the Logic 7 system, which is probably generally where the standard audio speakers are located too.

I just installed in my trunk an infinity basslink powered sub, amazing quality even with stock speakers, I am very happy with the results and installation took about an hour (if you are handy with tools). Definately improved the sound.

gracia,

How did you tap into the stock sytem? I have the stock system. Is the amp under the supposely "rear tire compartment" trunk floor lid? Did you run your on power wire from the trunk battery or tap into an existing line?

I would like to add a amp and subwoofer to the stock system.

Is there an English version of that chart (translation please)? How big are the subwoofers (in inches)?

Thanks.

How difficult do u guys think it would be to swap out the subs under the seats? Would you have to remove the seats? Is that hard?

I asked a high-end audio shop to replace the front subs under the seats.
Firstly, you need to take the seats off (which also requires changing the bolts)

Secondly, he says they aren't really "sub-woofers" as they are so small. You'll never buy a decent sub for under there, so why bother?

If you find out something more than I know- let me know!!

Hmmmm.. changing the bolts? Doesn't sound that bad, right?

Problem is, the midbass size in the front door is 4", which would make it tricky to get enough bass extension down to naturally mate with a sub. YOu'd have to crossover high, at like 120Hz or so, to avoid a suckout between the 4" midbass and the bass driver. Alternatively, if I could slap in an 8" driver under the seat, I could cover the 80Hz to 800Hz range or so, making an easy transition for the 4" midbass and a sub in the trunk.

Has anyone seen or done an aftermarket speaker installation in the E90??

Get 6.5 inch component set and build some kickpanels. Then add a single sub in the trunk storage compartment. A six speaker setup that will blow away the stock setup.

INteresting. Where would I have room for kick panels? The driver side pedal area looks pretty cramped.

You would lose your dead pedal.
