what happened to the ducts on LCI

just been looking round the car (e90 LCI m Sport)

having finally got few minutes and I'm schockled to discover the cooling ducts that I had in my e46 m sport for the front brakes are no longer there.

What gives.

Looking at the front trim of the m sport bumper the grills next to fog lights seem to have some soft plastic behind them.

On top the wheel arch looks like has an area marked to be cut out to put ducts in but they are simply not there

Can anyone shed some light on this, be a bit annoying if they are no longer available

looking at real oem it has a page with the ducts so looks like its only fitted standard to higher end cars (another cost cutting step)

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...50&hg=51&fg=75

Any ideas which parts I need to retro fit as its not clear

Do you find your brakes overheat a lot then?

there are no brake ducts on the 320d - BMW don't think they are necessary. I can't remember whether the wheel arch liner has a cutout available for the brake duct. You will need to buy two spare plastic brake ducts for a 335d with the same bumper as yours, then pull your bumper off and retrofit these two plastic ducts. You will also have to cut a hole in the wheelarch liner to fit. This will direct cool air into the wheelwell, and help cool your brakes.

However, the ultimate brake cooling kit is to duct straight into the centre of the inner hub, so that air can be expelled out through the vanes of the brake discs! Expensive to do though...!!

looking at the wheel arch liner its got the markings where the vent hole should be so easy enough job for a dremel.

Any ideas exactly which part numbers do I need for the ducts as I should be able to pull the wheel liner off and work from inside otherwise will have to work out how to get the bumper off

Emailed my local dealer and seems there is no reason why they would not fit.

So all ordered up annoyingly want arrive until at least a week, so will have to wait till later to fit as will get "shot " if caught modding this one

Garage List
LCi models seem to lose afew goodies - even on the high end model!!

Mine has NO torch (they had already removed the rechargeable torch and replaced with a small AAA battery powered maglite style one), NO cooled/heated cupholder in the armrest and they have even stopped putting the leather ipod holster in the armrest even with the 6FL option fitted

All these were fitted in the lesser model E93 I had!

Tight buggers
