Buttonwillow & Cal Speedway roll call(BMW CCA)
May 29th Buttonwillow, 30-31st Cal Speedway
On Friday and Saturday trying to set up some meet points for members of the Post forums. Friday- From the entrance, park in the front row area to the left of the main building and tower. Sat/Sun - Farthest area from the entrance, near the classrooms. So if you see a black M3, with red interior, plate starts 6FL you found one person at least. -Das

I am coming from Arizona. Will be at the Saturday / Sunday event. Looking forward to this track since I have only done the ones in Arizona. I have a white E92 with Dark Grey G-force track wheels. See you there.

Good to see a few M's going. There's a 7 page thread on the E90 side, and no response on a thread I started in the "California" section.

Anyone have a pic of the garages and where the students are allowed to park?

Nice meeting a few of you there, after 3 days of being in a car. I'm getting some sleep.

If you missed the event, here is good shot of the oval and a little slide at 5/6 from not unwinding. I only recorded a little bit of the first day, wish I had more memory. The last and best session would have been great as a learning tool if I had it recorded. All the instructors and A group guys, just WOW. Being in that group was humbling! Coming up to turns one and two w/o traffic at 140+ while apexing at around 120, was mind numbing!!! Not on the video, it was just the second lap and not pushing it on the oval.

What a great time. Must go back soon.
Entering the turn on the oval at 120 qualifies as thrilling. You don't realize just how gentle you have to be on the throttle when you're above 6k RPMs at those speeds. |

Thanks for posting that! Now I can show my kids/wife what I was doing being absent on a Saturday. It's also humbling to see just how effective DCT is (vs. my 6MT) on the same track.

I saw your car, but you guys looked pretty busy with the B/C's combined. Some instructors only got 1-2 sessions in.

My instructors late that day and the day worked with me on the gearing, going to a higher gear to get the rpms down to around 4-5k, worked out better than being in that 6k region going around the turns. Was able to put more power down and smoother.
