if you want to maintain a nice factory ride quality and attain better performance with a 1/2" lower ride height then i recommend this 100%. I love mine, 19" wheels, lowered 1/2", and i can still carry 5 people without rubbing FTW!

Dinan's is very similar with a little better performance and options to upgrade.

If you want to go lower and more aggressive there are a variety of coilover systems to choose from.

Specs I saw in the 3-series BMW Performance brochure says it lowers ride height 15mm, which is the same as the ZSP suspension.

Now, that brochure was for E46 as well as E90, and it doesn't do a good job of telling when it's talking about one model or another, so I could have read it wrong, but I don't think so.

Most folks that installed the Perf suspension found that ride height is about 10mm lower than ZSP. It is an OK choice for street / DD. I suggest taking a long look at some of the more sophisticated systems (talking to Harold at HPA is a good place to start). I also would suggest getting some of the M3 parts. The 12mm rear sway in the current version of the BMW Perf kit is not something I would bother with.

This aggressive package is up to 25 mm lower and increases spring rates up to 48%. Anti-roll bars are 26.5 mm in the front and 12 mm in the rear

i just bought it and installed it with my friend, and it feels much nicer than non-zsp suspension. It is much flatter and the drop is exactly what I was looking for (19"s) I have been having problems with the dsc and the computer throwing codes because it isn't used to the lower height and whatnot. I may take it in to get it's software reflashed to the specs

so im in the process of ordering the bmw suspension kit, with yellow springs and all the m3 parts, including the m3 rear sway bar and fstb.

but answering your question, i would recommend this path if you feel that you want to keep it as OEM as possible. i trust bmw when it comes to suspension parts and i believe that this setup would be more than enough for me as i drive my car as a daily driver, thru the stop n go traffic and thru the rough streets of the city.

My friend has ZSP with CSL wheels with 245/35/19 tires on the front, and I have 235/35/19 tires on the front: The wheel gap in the front is about the same, so I'm assuming that the BMW perf. susp. is a small bit lower.

I live in Hawaii so the shipping was 100 bucks from getbmwparts.com, all together the suspension cost me $1375 after shipping. My friend and I installed the suspension ourselves, and it was a bitch! It took us 7 hours because we had to drop the exhaust a little to get the alignment bolts out in the rear control arm.

One thing I noticed was that the package came with a front sway bar. We used a caliper and realized that it was the same diameter as the bar that was currently on my car - I bought the car used so I don't know if the previous owner had the upgraded bar on it, or if tischer sent me an incorrect front sway.

I would highly suggest this suspension for non-ZSP owners, the ride is much less sloppy/floaty, and still pretty much preserves that factory ride quality. I used to drive an Evo VIII so I'm still getting used to the weight and body roll of the 335i, but I have to say I'm very impressed with the way the car behaves with this bmw performance suspension.

^^^ good looking ride! the stance looks awesome already, i wonder if the springs will settle even more and drop it a few more mm's.

The parts manager is still confirming if all the parts that i ordered are in stock and also making sure if i didnt forget any misc parts behind. Another thing to note is that if your getting it installed at a BMW dealership, they do the 8 hour labor work (maybe standard for suspensions?) that cost around $1000.

Regarding the front sway bar, Tischer was saying that its the same diameter as the old suspension kit but this time its shaped differently (better?). My best bet is actually to change rear sway bar to a bigger one (14mm/15mm or even the 20mm ones)

From the looks of my order, it may be till next month still that i can get everything installed...but i hope sooner

Oh just an update... I installed the front sway bar that tischer sent me with the package a.k.a. the "new" bmw performance suspension package ($1275 struts springs and fsb included), and the car feels completely different!

Originally I only installed the struts and springs, and had assumed that since the bar on my car (non-zsp) was the same diameter, I didn't need to swap the new bar in. It was painfully obvious after I had compared the two bars side by side that the new front sway bar was shaped much differently!

Again, the difference is night and day- great suspension package!

I'm debating whether to opt for the front BMW Perf sway or the M3 front sway -- I already put in the Msport 14mm rear sway. Anyone have a comparison of the front M3 sway and the Perf one?

Did you find that the stock sway bar has a thinned region in the center that is much less than 26.5mm?

i can't take pictures anymore b/c the new sway is in the car.. but I can tell you that the new bar has more "steps" in it - more bends near the inner part of the bar.

I have a 2009 base E92, does the BMW suspension lower the nose more then the rear? I don't like the wheel well gap in the front.

My E90 LCI ZSP is DD and I don't track. I recently got 19" wheels and looking to lower my car so she would look right. Would you recommend Perf. kit, Perf. kit + M3 parts, or "more sophisticated systems"? Thanks.
