Strange limp mode. Any ideas?

Hi,

I was cleaning my car's interior today. After ~30 minutes I noticed the car starting to shake a bit and after several seconds it went into a limp mode. Shut it of, started again and it went into a limp mode after 5 seconds again. Then I took my c-reader and read the codes - misfire in cylinders 5 and 6, multiple missfire occasions (or smth like that). Cleared the error codes, started the car and everything was fine, didn't go into a limp mode.

Any ideas what could be the reason? It's the first time my car goes into a limp mode. HPFP? O2 sims (set at 80%, haven't had any problems)? Anything else?

Well, everything was just fine before. That is why I highly doubt a tune was the reason...

It's not clear in your post....but I presume your car was idling for 30 minutes as you were cleaning it and then went into limp mode from an idle?

why would you let your car idle for 30 minutes while cleaning the interior?... or maybe it was an earthquake that caused your car to shake.. haha.. jk.

honestly, I had a similar event a few weeks back.

I started my car and then had a call come in, and I was on the call for ~20 mins and got the limp mode. I got the limp mode when I hit the map switcher on my keychain and turned off of valet mode (took about 1 min after I turned it on). I'm betting its because the tune starts to advance timing under 0 load, and your spark plugs are probably not in top form so you got a misfire and limp.

Swap your sparkplugs

Got a second limp mode today, this time when driving.

Yep, I'm 90% sure that I got the limp modes because of my spark plugs. Will change them next week.

My car runs great, btw.

Yeah i'm gonna have to say swap your plugs and recreate the problem. If the other cylinder misfires...you know it's your plugs. I'm positive your plugs are going. Good luck!
