if i have the gauge set to the default bc.2 and then use the gas pedal switching to map 5 will the car always stay at map 5 or default to whatever bc.2 is??

which JB3 maps are you running? there is a special 1.3 map out on N54tech for download just for the Rixster.
But yes if BC2 is the pedal map switch that when set it will always keep it saved there.

As mentioned above... bc.2 is the gas pedal map, so the answer us, it will use whatever you select with the gas pedal, and that selection will be remembered. Then you can use the gauge to switch 4 maps in REAL TIME, on the road, while driving... and if you need to switch to the other maps, just put it in bc.2, and use the pedal method as ussual.

Terry posted the latest 1.3 software with instructions for the rixeffects gauge here:

Terry's instructions apply only if you have the original jb3 board without the DB9 connector.

If you want to be able to switch maps with 1.3 on rix gauge you have to DL the hex file that Terry has on his site. However you can use the 1.3 without the update on bc.2 for gas pedal switching. I just keep it on bc.2 and use the gas pedal switching.
