Help me make my decision please (bov)

Ok so i know i want a bov. I know some ppl dont like them you welcome to post against them and waste your time if you would like.

The problem is the only one i have heard that i really like is the STETT but that is 520 dollars which im not willing to spend for just a bov.

Are there any others that sound similar. I was thinking about the AA bov but i cant find a good video of it.

I know i want more of the " swooshh" sound insted of the squeal like the hks.

Im thinking its a tial that comes with the stett so maybe another company out there uses the tial as well but for less money.

Thanks.

I have the AA blow off valve. Its definitely a WOOSH noise as opposed to the shriek others make. I wouldnt say its obnoxiously loud by any stretch of the imagination. You can barely hear it with the windows up. I'm stock though so I'm sure when you crank the boost up that may change.

BOVs cheapen the car IMHO, but i can understand the urge to get one. I went through it as well, lasted two weeks before i took it off.

If you plan on going meth at any time, STETT will include the needed nozzle bungs in the charge pipe for you. It will save you a bunch of money and headaches down the road.

Why?
A BOV instead of a recirc system is just a different way of doing the same thing, namely taking care of the boost already in the intake, when you shut the throttle.

Some engineers think it's better to recover the metered air that's in the intake already and put it back into the line, others think it's fine to just "blow" it off to atmosphere.
It's not a matter of one way makes the other "cheap".

But, it does matter that the system is designed to work as a recirc instead of blow off. So, it will make some difference in operation.
If someone is willing to give up that little bit of proper function to get one of the coolest sounds in engine design, well, I say it's their choice.
The BOV in my '90 Laser/Eclipse was sweeeeet.
My A4 you can barely hear anything, and my newly ordered 135i has no sound like that either, it's pretty much too quiet.

Installing a BOV on this car will not make any difference with the operation at all. I don't know when putting a BOV on a BMW became cheap or ricer, but thats totally ridiculous. High hp cars have been using BOV's for years. If you like the sound go for it, its really that simple.

If you wanted a BOV you should have got a Subaru.

This is a TMAP car, so the car could care less about recirculated versus atmospheric. On MAF cars, I agree but this car it is only a matter of preference.

This is a MAP car it could care less about the air that is in the charge piping... The only air it cares about is the air in the manifold...

to OP:
Get a TiAL they are quiet when you aren't screwing around but sound good if you are on it
