Upcoming Events

Hey,

Just wanted to start a new thread on any upcoming events, happy hours, auto-x, whatever. I know info has been posted all over the place in random threads ... it's hard to keep track of what's happening when.

The only thing I know for sure:

8/26 Rev It Up

Would be cool if we had a dedicated MAR calendar

Sam, you're not signed up for Mazda zoom zoom live this weekend??

"Four unique driving courses invite you to test your skills and your nerve while behind the wheel:

Experience the adrenaline rush on the MAZDASPEED Challenge Course where you’ll push the limits with Mazda’s elite performance models.

Discover the all-new Mazda CX-7—an SUV infused with sports-car DNA that will get your heart racing as you whip around the track on the Target Hunt Course.

Beat the pro’s time by speeding through the Gymkhana Course in the savvy MAZDA6, sporty MAZDA3 and innovative MAZDA5.

And don’t forget the aggressive RX-8 and iconic MX-5 … one exhilarating lap on the Sports Course in these sports cars and you’ll be hooked.

Did we mention, that, based on your performance, you’ll accumulate points on each course toward fantastic prizes? And it’s not just about the incredible drive; it’s perfect for the whole family with Zoom-Zoom activities for the kids. All this fun at absolutely no cost to you, compliments of Mazda!"

P.S. I'm signed up for August 12th, 08:00 (I know, I know)....

I test drove the Mazdaspeed 6 (and Mazda 3) before buying. The MS6 has a decent kick to it, but a little less than I expected. Enjoy the weekend!

[edit] Looks like you'll be driving the 6, not the MS6. Bummer. On the plus side, the RX-8 and Miata would be a blast to take for an aggressive spin!

No, have to drop off the ex and my son at the airport at 11:00, otherwise I'd be there.

Is Leeds Manor going to happen on the 19th or what!?

Sam its going on all weekend...Sat the 12th to Sun the 13th. The only reason I'm going for the first time slot is I thought I had to catch a flight out the same day, but I had since booked a flight on Sunday. It works out better as the lines get rather long so Sat at 08:00 is good. AJ can't make either weekends and I believe Shim is joining me at my timeslot. Not sure about BK, Frank and Truong...

AJ, Frank...sucks...this one is real fun. I totally enjoyed last year's event, I found the track/course to be much fun. I also love it that they encourage you to push the cars....they don't have to tell me twice

So when I stumble over to the cars (walking like I just did a bar crawl), they would be willing to still toss me the keys???

I could be a great experiment for the ill effects of drug usage while driving!!!

'Look at that idiot!!! He turned the wrong way on the track!!!'

Hey its 08:00 in the morning...everyone will be stumbling/crawling to the cars....I know I will

The theory is that drugs would dull the edge of overexcitement/adrenaline rush thereby making you a calmer and more relaxed driver. A calm driver would be able to thread the course better and be less likely to make mistakes

I will be on muscle relaxers and pain medications. My body would disagree with movements... Last I checked, you do have to move your body when driving on a track...

unless.... I post a 5 minute lap time

(gee this car handles really well)

Donny, sorry, but I won't be there, either. Expecting a delivery about that time and I can't be too far away.
