tuff choice... 135 is fun but doesn't have the respect of the all mighty ///M...
I'd go M3...

If this is just to tootle around town get 135i. If you plan on tracking the car I think the M3 is a better choice.

If money is a consideration. The 2005 is probably a better choice if you can purchase the car outright.

peace,

m3 without a doubt but that may be because i'm a guy
m3 seems to be a dude magnet when 1-series seems to be more of a girl magnet

I may have misread what you wrote but, to paraphrase, if you are gay, get the M3 (dude magnet) and if you are hetero, get the 135 (girl magnet).

Regardless, M3.

It depends on the color/options of the '05 ///M3. I'd definitely choose a ZCP M3 - for example - over a 135i. In fact, as long as the '05 is clean, I'd choose it by default. I miss my '05 IB ZCP sometimes.

lol @ dude magnet...the way is see it: get neither and get an e92...the e46 is outdated and youll be looking at e92's while driving the e46..the 1 series will get boring FAST and youll want to upgrade to a 335 anyway....save yourself the trouble and regret by getting an e92...but you know what guys in e92's want right?..... e92 m3's...it never ends

So, just a bit off-topic, how much should one pay for a 2005 M3 with around 50K miles?
