Warmer weather, getting Fuel cut?

I did a search and couldn't find this specific issue.

As things warm up outside here I have been experiencing what I think is Fuel Cut. Usually 4th gear, full throttle, about 4-5000 rpm I get what I think is a fuel cut. The power just cuts from the car in an instant, like I let go of the gas pedal. I back off, and shift to a higher gear and can drive normal again. Never a Service Engine Soon, but I get about 1/3 of the time a half moon engine light thing (limp mode?).

Now that it's getting warmer, it gets worse, sometime happens at 75mph in third.

Yesterday was cold here, car ran great, until I did a few back to back pulls and again it would kick in between 4-6000 rpm. In fact, it did it early in 3rd after a dead dig agressive take off. (1st, 2nd to redline, 3rd a little ways in a "fuel Cut"

I have new plugs, my car is an early 07 11/06 build date I think, 35,000 miles Procede V2. Also my car performs just like my friends 335, so the performance when it runs is good (if not slightly better than his)

Any ideas? ( I hate to jump to the Fuel Pump failure bandwagon, but kinda sounds like it)

I know what you are talking about but mine happens quicker and I get a limp mode everytime. Probably shouldn't be going WOT in 105 degree weather anyhow. I just chalk it up to the high temps. So far I haven't had any fuel pump symptoms.

Yeah, but it's barely 70 out here. If my car gets the cut any lower I might as well sell it and buy a 318i

Garage List
Try it without the chip and see what happens. If problem persists, take it in.

Mine does this too from time to time, after I recently installed my JB3.

Any of you guys have an FMIC? I didn't think so.
We all know the N54 is got heatsoak issues. Try an FMIC and let us know if it solves the problem

There are 2 others cars that I have access to that run the same software, in fact one of them I tried the actual procede on and it runs fine.

Stock I can't get it to do it, so I can't take it in. That's what's killing me. Modified I have the problem, stock I don't. Also to take the "it's the piggyback" out of the equation I've used several things on my car, they all react the same.

I am really out of ideas short of the tempermental fuel pump when things are warmer. The only other thought is that my turbos may be failing and are producing more heat than normal causing the car to run hot really early on.

I am going back to stock this weekend and doing a track day in that setup, perhaps I can repeat the fuel cut that way stock.

Wow, 80 degrees today and humid and I can have the car stuttering and shaking at about 13.5 psi even in third gear at about 65 UGH.

Update: They are replacing the intake pressure sensor and some VANOS exhaust component, I'll see on the invoice exactly what it is.

Then I go back to "testing" it out.
