Boost gauge recommendations?

I am looking at getting a boost gauge, but am kind of strapped for cash, so does anyone have any recommendations for a cheaper/functional/accurate boost gauge that is simple to install/remove?

Ive been looking at some gauges, and I get confused as to which gauges need extra "modules" to work. Is there a boostgauge that is simple and doesnt require much extra hardware? It can either be analog or digital, but i prefer psi over bar.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

thank you

Doesn't BMS's connect directly to the JB3?

Twinz, I'd keep an eye out for a VEI gauge in the FS section. A member turned vendor (Rixster/RixEffects) used to make a pod/gauge combo that was extremely popular and then came out with something that was even better, thus flooding the market with the old setup. I still use the original VEI setup.

Here's one for sale, but you should check to see if he's got the tubing/wires for it as well.

If you can find one that came with Rixster's original wiring/tubing kit, install should take you less than 30 minutes. Nothing but disconnecting, reconnecting, and a little bit of crimping.

my gauge isn't cheap by any means... but every single person who has bought it has said it is worth every penny or more...

maybe i could do a group buy, and get it a little bit cheaper...

rix“s gauge may be the best looking... if u do not mind looking at a gauge to the lower left where the vent is.
BMS gauge is extremely functional if u have the JB3.

since u r strapped for cash the best and cheapest alternative until you go with a great gauge is:
1/ run a vacum T and add an extra vacum line for a mechanical gauge. note this is done at the DV vacum lines (look for the DIY).
...run the vacum line into your cabin thru the steering gromet in the firewall underneath the steering wheel (again see DIY).
attach a decent mechanical gauge to the end of the vacum line in your cabin... you are done !

now just keep the gauge underneath your driver“s seat and pull it out when you want to monitor things.
this worked well for me for many many months until the BMS gauge came out.
note that all of this will probably cost you about 50 bucks. if you understand the simple install it should take about 2 hours max. toughest part is to get the vacum lines off and back on the Ts. (use a hairdryer per the DIY).

hope this helps.

Interested in a GB for the rixter boost guage as well. Just one question though, will it work with both tunes, the procede and jb3 and secondly what about compatibility with other/future tunes, jb+, flashes, and what about if the next jb3 goes the flash route with the bt cable?

The vent gauge works regardless of tunes, stock, flash, piggyback, whatever... it is a complete solution on its own. The jb3/v3 boost control stuff was added later by popular demand... but totally optional (a ten dollar option)
