SSTT DYNO

So, this guy locally got his 335i 6MT with SSTT (otherwise stock) dyno'ed today on a Mustang Dynometer (4th gear pulls). They have a great setup, as I was there watching... big fan plus small "turbo looking" fan both aimed at the font of the car, and 3 big fans behind it. Plus another big fan behind and off to the side to help scavenge the air out and away (both the car and dyno). The dyno is attached to a lift so you can get under the car for tuning, etc. while on the dyno.

Anyway, I don't have a scanner or I would post the graphs, I will try to get them scanned soon. Started at 2000 RPM's and floored it to about 6900.

1st dyno: it hit 325 RWTQ from about 2700 RPM's to 3600 and then slowly started declining to around 260 RWTQ at 5750 RPM's. HP slowly climbed all the way up to 291 RWHP @ 5750 RPM's as well. The reason I say 5750 is because at that point both TQ and HP dropped like a rock 25-30 then kinda faded off.

2nd pull only put down a peak 287 RWTQ and 265 RWHP but stayed more consistent without the drop at 5750 rpms. ONLY waited 3.5 minutes between pull 1 and pull 2.

3rd pull peak was 274 RWTQ and 264 RWHP again nice smooth lines no sudden drop. This time they waited about 15 minutes between pulls, oil temp showed 230 degrees F.

All 3 dynos were identical after 5750 RPM's. I really think this proved a point, that the stock FMIC is complete GARBAGE and can't handle the extra boost of even an SSTT. I don't know if the power dropped due to timing (heat) or maybe the heat actually made the SSTT go into some sort of bypass mode. Who knows. Maybe the fuel pump is on it's way out.. has been a couple of 5 second starts (4 over the past 2-3 months) and idling is rough at times. I know this same car made 290 RWHP and 304 RWTQ when stock but on a Dynojet. 3 pulls in a row, no problems then. Had the RWHP continued to rise past 5750 like normal I think it would have seen about 310 RWHP give or take.

Any ideas? I hope I described it well, again sorry no scanner.

btw, AF started at 14.6 and worked it's way down to 11.6'ish by redline. It was 95 degrees (car's reading) and very humid (even rained right after getting done). Didn't have a boost gauged attached, sorry. Their dyno has a "weather correction" but he said it doesn't really work well when you have an intercooler, as temperature makes a bigger difference on those. He said SAE or STD would give it higher numbers than the WC did. Hood was closed, filter was clean.

Here's mine for comparison. I made three runs and all were similar. HoustonT was there with me in a 335 with the same SSTT and Step as mine. He ran very similar numbers. Both cars only had a drop-in airfilter.

I would have expected him to have similar numbers, but his readings are somewhat lower.

Ya SSTT drops off up top, but this one was a little different. It looks about the same until 5750 RPM's then it instantly lost 30 TQ and 25 HP. I am pretty sure at that point the SSTT chip got hot and went into "bypass" mode and that is why the next 2 pulls look more like stock dyno numbers. 95 degrees and pretty much 100% humidity isn't exactly "good dyno conditions" plus I think the stock FMIC has gotta go.
