Increased temps after Dinan Stage II flash

I noticed after the stage II flash that the car now runs hotter in general. The heat is 1 tick before 250. It used to sit at 3 ticks to 250 consistently. I understand this is probably why Dinan wants cars with oil coolers for this flash, but has other people with this flash experienced the same temp increase?

It is probably just because of the warmer ambient temperature.

My 335i used to have the oil temp just 3-4 clicks before 250 during the winter. Now it is consistently at 1 click before 250.

I have stg II and when it's 70 degrees it runs around 235 when I push it it goes to 245 but then drops back down. I use to worry about it being a little hotter but even if it stays at 250 it doesn't worry me

Thanks guys for the quick answers. I guess I'll see how the temp goes when ambient hits 100.

You could also be seeing the increase in the temps now that you have the flash, im sure your pushing your car harder to see what the flash has brought out in your car.
My car always runs @ 240-245 daily..

Do you think you **may** be driving the car a bit harder? I noticed a dip in temps, but I was spiking 290F at the track---VK oil cooler should correct this.

I actually drove it around pretty mildly, meaning no more throttle than what I would use before. I didn't expect the temps to not go up under more aggressive driving, I was just suprised that it was up from just cruising along and some basic stop and go. The car simply ran hotter period. It was better once I hit the highway and moved at a decent clip but the overall temperature is one or two clicks higher at all times, even in the cooler weather this morning.

I don't track the car so I am not too worried, but I wanted to see if other owners notice the same thing.

I have a theory about this.
dinan increases the water pump speed so the water temps should be a bit cooler and the reason for the increase of oil temps is due to the lower water temps.
I've noticed that if the water temps go high, the oil temps are low and vice versa.

BMW might be on to something with their performace package :P with the increased radiator cooling. Not sure how one being cooler would make the other (oil) be hotter? But I think that is the #1 focus we are starting to see is how to keep this car out of limp mode due to overheating. We might all be buying upgraded radiator AND oil cooling systems...
