jb3 chip burner on ebay?

has anyone bought a chip burner off of ebay instead of from BMS directly? i know i read some posts where you can get it cheaper (not that $50 is expensive lol).

if you have bought one from ebay for like $30 or less can you post a link to the exact item. i dont want to buy one that isnt compatible or something haha.

I bought this one, cause back then they didn't have any in stock at BMS.

However you need to jumper two pins which require soldering, so if you're comfortable with that this works just fine.

Sure you can find them for $30...but read the fine print. They'll charge you $10 for shipping. So you're saving $10, but like yandyr said above, you have to solder the jumpers on the back.

Why not just spend the extra few bucks, get it ready to go (plus BMS includes the correct USB cable), and support the mod community at the same time?

Yea I know it would prob be best to buy the BMS one but I thought I would just try and see if there was a cheaper option (without soldering/tampering) but I guess not haha

You don't have to do any soldering. Just stick the wire ends into the slots (that correspond to the correct pins) and close the gate.

That one uses a USB printer cable. I'm sure you don't have a short one, so calculate that into your costs.

Remember, the BMS one comes with the right length USB cable.

The unit we sell comes with burner, spare chip and USB cable. I/BMS don't really make any money of these and provide it as a service to the JB community.

Ebay is slightly cheaper if you have a spare USB lying around.

Good point about the spare chip. With this, you can download the latest wares and then do the swap whenever you feel like it. Plus it's nice to have an extra lying around just in case something ever goes wrong.

If you buy it with a JB3 then yes, but on its own no.. At the price we sell them for we're not making money on these so its hard to ship them for free
