E90 owners check your tire pressure !!!

Yes, check your tire pressure. There was a thread about how dealers don't check the tire pressure. I ignored it for the first night and then checked it the next day cuz I thought the ride was a little choppy. All 4 tires' pressure was 35 psi !!! So naturally I reduced them to 29.5 for fronts and 32.5 for rears since it was getting a bit hot. Now, it rides like a dream Perfect road feel and handling

Yup...I did some driving on some of my favorite mountain roads this weekend. I found raising the front pressure 3-4 psi helps to dial out some of the understeer.

I checked mine after reading the thread last week - all about 4psi over the recommended. Can't say I've noticed much difference though

Here's a question:- If I inflate a tyre to say 35psi on a hot summer's day, on a freezing winter's morning will the pressure be much lower (i think it would) and does this mean I should seasonally check and adjust tyre pressure?

Yes - its bet to check you tried monthly! Every 10C change in temp is about 1 BAR or 1.5 psi. So a 30C change form winter to summer will be 3 BAR or 4.5 psi - enough to make a signicant difference to the way a car drives.

Mine was 36psi all around. Took the extra pressure off the tires and it drives and handles 10X better.

I completely agree!!

I had to get my front left tire changed because I got a flat. The dealership left the tire at 44psi!!!!!! it was at 47 when hot.
the others were at 34psi when cool. so I had to lower the pressure but yes, check your tire pressure!!!!!!!

I left all the tires at 34psi. is that too hight?

Open the driver's side door and look at the frame. It will say 29 fronts and 32 on rears. Yes, they are too high.

Think you are 10x off the BAR to psi conversion. 1 BAR~15psi

The dealer may check the tire pressure in their workshop which is usually much cooler (A/C running all the time) than the outside, so that might be a reason for higher than normal pressure upon delivery.

10 degree change in temp = approx 1 lb psi.

I think there are different recommended pressures for different speed ranges. If you plan to drive up to 100mph there is one recommended set of pressures, and slightly greater for 100mph and over if I am not mistaken. I think I am at 32 and 35 right now, but maybe I will drop them down a little bit. It's best to do the pressure measurements at about room temperature if you can (60-75 degrees F) and when the car has not been driven for several hours.

Nope...that's just about right.

I got a slow leak from running over a nail...patched with no problems (yet). But it sure was one helluva wake up call!

That is very true. 29 psi fronts and 32 rears is only true for 325i with sprot pkg. 330i non sport for some reason has much higher rear psi recommended. I believe 32 front and 39 rear or something like that. 330i sport pkg has similar to 325i sport pkg but I think only 1 psi higher thatn 325i sport

I have a 330i W/Sports pack, and the posted recommendation (in the door jam) says 38 Front and 45 Rear which seems high.

I believe you looked at the pressure for maximum load and speed.
Normal driving conditions and light load for everyday driving is much lower. It is on owner's manual. Yes, I read it.

My car was delivered with tire pressures all over the place, not inspiring confidence in my friendly dealer.

Yes, we've got to check the pressure manually periodically because of the way the car determines a problem with tire pressure....unlike some other cars (and other, more expensive BMW's) pressure problems with the tires are not picked up via a pressure sensor but rather they're inferred from a detected difference in rotational speed of one of the tires.

So as the manual points out, a slow degradation of tire pressure on ALL four tires will not be detected (to be expected with all tires over time). As per the manual.

My car was delivered with 38psi all around. Changed to 29/32 pursuant to the manual.

I've found the fronts need to be at least in the 35 psi range or the car will plow like crazy

Agreed.

Sticker for me says 32/36, or 35/41 for high speed.

I'm currently running 35/38 and like the feel.

The manual says 32/36 up to 100mph and up to max load, 32/35 including speeds above 100 but not full load, and 35/41 or something for 100+ and full load for 330xi.
