PROcede CANbus + DCI + catless DPs = a little dissapointed with the performance
Hi,
you can see all of my mods in the signature. I raced E92 M3 and Lexus IS-F last week. Got walked from ~100 mph. It was neck and neck with the tuned E46 M3 (chip, exhaust, intake) all the way up to 155 mph. Vids posted here. Is this normal? I'd expected to at least keep up with the E92 M3 and IS-F. I'm running CANbus Stage 1 4-30 maps, UT - 70%. When racing the M3, UT was 72% (well adapted; first race), but then I changed the map to default one (UT 70%; almost no time for adaptation; 2nd race in the vid) and it was slightly better. Wtf? And 4th gear seems to be much weaker - as soon as I shift to 4th, I get smoked. Any ideas?

But I'll try Stage 2 maps, make some logs and compare stage 1 vs stage 2. No dyno yet.

I was joking but maybe the elevation had something to do with it? Temperature?

For me it looks like bad gas if you loose power with higher settings or wrong map for your mods.

I wouldn't think an e46 M would give you a run, something must be wrong. What were the mods on the e92 M3 and the isf.

Any chance you're hitting the user adjustable max boost limit at the shift and the ProCede is going into valet mode?

These Canbus maps are quite powerful.
As such, they will generate a lot of heat that will pull your timing by 4th gear as you mentioned. If it feels like the power just kind of fades away as you get to the end of 3rd and into 4th, you might want to consider an intercooler upgrade. It will keep you intake temps cooler a lot longer than the stock one. The stock one is useless by halfway into 3rd according to my datalogs. FWIW I'm running stage 1 at 72% and when I go back and forth between 74%, I find 72 is better. And that's with an upgraded intercooler too! |

I can walk E46 M3's with just an intake and procede. Get it on the dyno and see if somethings up.

it may be weird to do, but try lowering your settings to 60-65%...if its gas, the maps could be too aggressive for your set up and conditions. in 60* weather i can run 75% on stage1 and fly...in 75*+ i gotta run 60-65% or else 3rd and 4th gear seems to be held down. just give it a try and see how it is. it made a world of a difference for me :-)

It is a bit laggy and not as powerful in the higher gears in my experience.
I have a CANBUS Procede, DCI, & catless midpipes...run Stage 1 at 72% user torque. There's no doubt you can rock some high trap speeds in a 1/4 mile and probably be into the high 12s, but since the power delivery is so linear it doesn't 'feel' fast. |

somethings wrong. you should have eaten that e46 m3 and give the e92 m3 and isf a better challenge. Id grab catless mid-pipes or full exhaust and an fmic. run stg.3 and ull blow em. you will like stg.3, it really turns the car into a beast. No more needs for theme parks, u can get that roller coaster fell at the touch of your peddle.

Hi,
I have said it before to you - run Stage II. The problem at 100 mph is heat soaked stock IC when racing from 0 mph. I have exactly the same experience and will soon upgrade my IC. |
