JB3 Map 3 vs Stock on 335xi

I pick up my new ride tomorrow and my JB3 should be arriving on Monday. I don't really plan on going to the track (maybe once just to see ). I was considering on leaving the setting on the JB3 to map 3 which I believe is default. I want a setting that would be good for a daily driver without going to hard on the engine. How much of a difference is there between 0 and 3? I know specs indicate up to 80hp gain but I assume that might be map 6 or 7. My car does have the sport package with oil cooler. Thanks!!

Now on a stock vehicle, is putting in a JB3 on map 3 a waste of time without supporting mods like a DP and FMIC? Again, I don't plan to race with it. I just want a little more power because that slight turbo lag right now is driving me nuts. I thought about going with the AR Catless DP, but is that also a waste of money if I don't do a complete exhaust swap? Can I just install the DP to the existing exhaust? Will it help the JB3? Sorry for all the questions, and I really appreciate the support so far on the forum. I just picked up my 335xi today and love it!!

That statements gonna be a lie after you feel the JB3.. I run map 3 as daily drivin g and map 6 for agressive driving. DIffersence between stock and map 3 is day and night. After you try map 3 you're gonna say OH SHIT this is so much faster. Than youll get use to it in few days and want more power. Start of modding addiction. DP's yield about 25+ whp for some people..Be safe out there..

yes you can just install downpipes and leave the stock exhaust, the downpipes will gain you a few HP but you'll only be getting the most out of it if you're running a tune.

you'll be able to run the JB3 on map 5, or you can start off with mao 3 and then go up one map every time until you find your perfect map, ive always ran map 6 on my car and cant imagine going with a less aggressive map. hell if i had access to cheap race gas i would probably be running map 7 all day lol

Only dual cone intake. And cosmetic mods. Getting quad tips installed this week but has no difference in performance.

Do you think the DP will help on a stock exhaust system? Did you notice a huge difference in performance with those dual cones?
