Exclamation PROcede meth failure protection in action

Ran out of meth in the middle of a dyno run by accident (green run). Never really had guts to test this before. But I guess now we know that it works

As soon as meth flow drops below the trigger point, the PROcede reacts by yanking out 4-5 degrees of timing immediately and dropping boost by 2-3psi. The engine doesn't even hiccup or ping during this process. In fact, I didn't even realize I ran out of meth. I just thought I sprung a leak somewhere and lost power

Shiv,

Isn't pulling timing a bad way to go due to increase in EGT's ? Since boost is ecu controlled why not simply pull boost and add fuel ?

Not that I know anything ... but if you didn't pull timing and you're mixture is not as "good" as you were programmed for, other very bad things could happen, no?

It's only bad if there is insufficient advance (over-retard). In this case, we are just bringing advance back to normal pump gas levels instead of the aggressively advanced levels we run with meth is flowing.

Also, there is no quicker way to stop knock from happening in the case of meth failure than timing retard. That action can occur within 1 single engine revolution. Waiting for boost to drop takes much longer. Same goes for snuffing out knock with over-fueling.

Cool.

Are you working on a non-intrusive install as well?
