To the "helpful" people driving behind me

Thank you for your concern, but my tire is not about to fly off my car. It has a bubble in the sidewall, you see, and so it's pulsing a little bit as I drive and it looks to you like it's wobbling, but it's not. The bolts are all quite tight. I checked them last night myself.

And yes, I know a bubble can cause problems. But they're run-flat tires, so even if it gives way, I'm probably okay for another 50 miles. And also, that tire has had that bubble since last fall, so I doubt it's in imminent danger of bursting. It's just that when that tire was on the front axle, you couldn't see it and get all preachy with me (I'm looking at you old man in Bedford who was still condescending after I told you I had an appointment to get it fixed).

So, know this. I have an appointment for first thing Monday morning. They will give me a new tire. And then you won't have to worry. But really, you don't need to worry now. So stop driving so close and leave me alone.

Amy, just be sure to really check the lug nuts, your tire appears to be falling off.

I am honestly just getting really tired of sitting there for 20 seconds holding the button to put the top up and down wherever I go (yes, spoiled I know).

the added cool key click factor sure doesn't hurt either!

Plus I figure when my lease is up I can sell it to another addict.

I got it for the remote top down feature, but I love the one-push up/down even more. 20 seconds really is a long time when you're trying to back up and out of a driveway and onto a street. How the hell are you supposed to put it from R to D? Heaven forbid you have a manual as well!

And don't forget the handy "did I lock my doors? hmm, let me double-click and see if the mirrors fold in".

I would've needed to have splurged for the PP for that feature

Amy! Don't you know how dangerous a sidewall defect can be? You should make an appointment to get that fixed immediately!

During some stop and go traffic, I tilted down my side mirror and watched the tire roll. I could see what some people would find alarming.

On the way home last night, after the 5th person frantically flagged me down, I stopped and bought a jack and swapped my tires around. I was just gonna put a winter tire on and put the bubble tire in the trunk, but then I remembered they're different sizes. So I swapped front and back, using the winter as a place holder.

I drove all the way into work today and not a single person bugged me. Bliss.

Did you hit a pothole? How did the bubble occur?

I probably did. I didn't notice it until well after it happened. It's rather small, maybe 1.5 inches in diameter.
