BMW Euro Delivery to CA....Emissions or Import fee?

Hi all,

I am considering buying a 335Ci through the Euro Delivery program, but a friend who has done this before (not through BMW) told me to be careful about getting a car that passes CA emissions standards (smog tests) as well as be careful of the potential red-tape regarding importing into the US. He said sometimes, you need to have a permit for this or pay extra fees.

Does anyone have experience with this? Does BMW take care of all of this for the buyer?

Thanks for any help!

By doing ED you are buying a US spec car, not importing a EU car. There are no different emission issues with them compared to any other BMW you might get at the dealer.

the car you are pickin up is buit by the US standards, so like the previous poster said, there are no emission problems.
