Lease & Tire Question

I apologize in advance as I'm sure this topic is covered in depth throughout the numerous posts on this forum, however I could not find it after 30 minutes of searching, so I'm just going to ask and deal with the "do a search" responses as they come in!

So here it is... I'm 2 years through my 3 year lease and my RFTs are dead.

The way I see it is that I have 3 options:

1. Buy new runflats and turn them in with the car in a year.
2. Buy some better, cheaper (non RFT) tires and use them for a year, then put the old RFTs back on before I turn it in.
3. Buy some better, cheaper (non RFT) tires and turn them in with the car. (Is this possible or does it have to be the same RFTs upon turn in?).

I'd appreciate the feedback immensely!

I think option 1 is your best bet and you will not get hit with any charges at lease end for having non-OEM tires.
With option 2, what will you do with the non RFT if your next car has a different tire size?
Option 3, again you may get charged for having non-OEM tires.

I know when I traded in my X5 they told me that my Yokohama tires, which were only about 6 months old, were not OEM and they would have to replace them in order to meet the CPO requirements. Sure enough when I saw it on there pre-owned web site, it had a new set of Michelin tires on it.

option 2 and lease another BMW3.. and buy good tires/rims. Even if you dont get another 3, you can always sell it later,.

Ya I needed this info too. I will just buy some 19's and run them 8 months a year and run the stock rims and RFT for 4 months a year. Hopefully there will be enough tread left when my lease is up. Because new RFT will run you around $1000+, and new 19's and tires is about $2000+. So your into the 19's for about $1000 then and then sell them when your lease is up.
