HEADLIGHT CONDENSATION
I was walking up to my car the other day and noticed that there was condensation build-up on the inside of the clear portion of the passenger side front headlight. Can anyone (pardon the pun) shed some light on this? Should I take it in? Is it a common occurence? Would it be wise to remedy this problem before winter hits (a Co-worker mentioned that it could freeze and bugger up the headlight.)
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, G |

I'd take it back to the dealership and have them look at it. That happened to me before on my Supra and the replaced the whole thing. Best is to take it when the condensation is still there.

I assume you've got the xenons --those should be vaccum sealed with no moisture getting in there, so definitely have that checked out and replaced. Especially if you live in a big city where the air/moisture/rain could be somewhat corrosive... then over time you get one headlight that the plastic starts yellowing out and the other one still looks brand new --happened on my coworker's car.

Have you been using a high pressure water jet? The high pressure water jet is so powerfull, it can actually force the rubbers out of position and let water enter the headlight assembly!

you know, your question reminded me about that happening on my e36 car.
didn't happen too ofter so i never did anything about it. no probs with my e46, so like the others suggested, it would be best to get it checked out, especially that it's already happening at the brand new stage and you really don't want any problems at any time in the future. they shouldn't condense up. trust you sort this out quickly as it may become an irritation soon. all the best.
