ssk for the 128i

i've been thinking about the ssk for my 125i and have been told that bmw doesnt actually list a ssk for the 125i but does for the 128i for some reason.
looked around on realoem and it seems that the gear shift parts for the 125 and 128 are identical, so would it be right to assume the 128 ssk would fit the 125?
(interestingly the 130i ssk part numbers are different to the 128i...)
anyway was wondering if someone could tell me the parts the 128i ssk comes with?
is it just what is listed on the real oem website?
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...82&hg=25&fg=95

cheers

The short shift kit for the 130i fits the 125i, ill be getting that soon. The people that supplied me the exhaust can sell me the kit for £105.00 and shipping £39.25 with DHL, all up comes to $297 AUD, which is much cheaper than the 128i.They have installed a few on the 125i. Just wondering how much BMW will charge to install.

Its brilliant, no drone, sounds great under load absolutely satisfied with it. I had major issues getting videos up on the net, realised it was the camera which was corrupting the files. I would highly recommend it over the intake. Although I want to try and save some pennies and get the short shifter, the intake and the performance wheels all at once from james (so that I can get a bundled price). jksgoh, like to get your opinion on which performance wheels you think are better, the original ones for the 1 series or the new 3 series wheels?

Damn, you'll have one nice 1 coupe by the time you get all that on your car!
as for the wheels.... personally i dont really like the 3 series performance ones, saw them at the motor show and i thought they looked a bit anorexic! (not as in small but as in the spokes were quite skinny), but it seems other people seem to quite like it. Also since the 3 series performance wheels are 19s, combined with their thinner spokes it really made the performance breaks look small, and i think it would make the 125i breaks look nonexistant!
As for the 1 performance wheels, i really like them. but right now im not in the position to get a new set of wheels myself(money and the fact my gf paid for the upgrade to the 18s lol).
i have a feeling that whatever wheels you get they will look better with the car lowered a bit, as it will fill in the arch better... seems like your going all genuine bm, so maybe the performance springs? but ive never seen a car with the springs on...
will be good to know what you decide on!

wmJ73, nice car! I also agree that the 3 series wheels would make your brakes look too small. Also when you put big open wheels on a small car, i reckon the large gap distracts from the rest of the cars porportions. I think the 1 series wheels suits the cars.

how much did the performance exhaust cost to purchase and install? and where did you get it done?

Hey guys thanks both for your opinion, but you can get the 3 series perf. wheels in 18inch. do you still think the brakes would look to small?

Franco I got the exhaust from a vendor on babybmw.net. he is based in the uk and was great to deal with. Cost was about $1100 with shipping and install was $35 from a muffler shop, only took 35-40mins. I have posted the guys email above.

18" 3 series wheels, what are the offsets? would they stick out??? would really have to look at them though? any pics of a 1er with them on?
one prob with the 1 series performance is that i image it would be a total b!%@# to clean.

wmj, those 18s deff look like they suit the car more than 19s would.
they look pretty good in the pics, and im assuming theyd prob look better in real life. but hard to tell if id go with them over the m261s... what are you leaning towards??? what sort of price is reddishmotorsport asking for the performance wheels anyway?
Eddie, that sounds like a pretty good deal! with the E-brake is that just the new performance alcantara boot and handle for it???

jksgoh I'm stumped on the wheel choice. If I go with the 3 series wheels, I think the 125i brakes will look wee bit small but then it will be something different to what everyone else has as opposed to the regular 1 series performance wheels. Did you email reddish re. the ssk?
Eddie that looks like an awesome deal, want to hook me up with the ssk&intake?

wmj73, not too sure if you've seen the 3 series ones in person, but if the dealer has them in stock they should be able to let you have a look at them. maybe that will help you decide?
i emailed reddish last week but still haven't got a reply. will wait a couple more days, and then try again. Did you manage to get any more info about the ssk?
i got quoted 400$ from andrew at southern bm, which would be consistent with what they sell it for in the US. so the 105 pounds does seem a bit cheap? duno though.

Haha, ye eddie any chance of hooking us up with some bargains?

jksgoh, I havent emailed them as yet. I did ring up bribane bmw regarding the ssk. At first he said there wasnt anything available for the 125i but then told him the 130i will work fine. He gave me a total price of $950 intall and parts. Asked him how much just for the part, $449.50. Thats alot of coin just for labour.

i think the problem with the SSK is that there is a bit of labour involved. I've been told you have to take off the exhaust and a few other bits and pieces to gain access to install it, which in the ends adds up the hours of labour needed to install it.
