M6 Mods
I can't beleive I am considering this but I've found a couple of mods that I think need doing.
Both are AC Schnitzer mods and the first mod is a set of front splitters as shown in the picture below (note: NOT the silver grill 'bit' which looks horrific!): They are incredibly expensive but look just sooo good! The second mod is a set of AC Schnitzer springs which give the car the stance you see in the picture. They're a very small drop giving the same ride height as the Competition Pack M6's that have just been launched. The ride hieght of the M6 is far from low and could visually benefit from a 20mm drop. Rossiters, who sell the ACS products in this country have assured me that there is virtually no perceptible difference in ride quality...which to me is very important (remember how fussy I was with the Hartge exhaust on my M3!). Has anyone experienced the quality of AC Schnitzer products and in particular in how their suspension springs compare with standard springs (on any BMW)? |

Springs and splitters are going on next week...the wheels will have to wait!
Even after a discount they are still £4.5k with tyres!!! I went to Rossiters last weekend to check out the stuff I'm buying and compared the 20" wheels pictured with a set of 20's that are not forged...the weight difference is massive. I even think Schnitzer 20's are lighter than the standard 19" forged wheels. |

First mods finally done...not only have I bought the mods but my laptop went caput so I had to buy a new one (just to upload these pics of course!) so it's been an expensive couple of weeks!!! Can someone please tell me how I reduce the size of the picture on a Mac because it's 2am and I give up!?!?
Anyway, as you will hopefully see, the 15-20mm lower AC Schnitzer springs and ACS front splitters have transformed the looks, probably more so that the pictures highlight. The handling is a little flatter but the best bit is that the ride is pretty much unchanged. Result! Now, I reckon those splitters will save the big barge a good 5 mins round the ring next week (Really... that last sentence was a joke!) |

Looks lovely Andrew. will u be going for the chrome slats as in the first pic?
M6 really needs some bigger wheels tho IMO Macs, pah! supposed to be easier to use lol. hate them myself and before any1 asks...yes ive had a fair go with them! funny how many people tend to buy macbooks just for the design but choose to use windows on them Anyway ive resized them for u to a more manageable size! Lookin' good. Get saving for them alloys - I love the ACS alloys (wouldn't have the same effect on mine!!!)

Great mods there... really subtle, which makes them all the better in my book.
Looking forward to seeing it next Friday mate... |

It's a little firmer but hardly anything you'd notice unless you really think about it. |

Thanks for doing the pics...much better now they fit on the screen! I'm sure there must be a way of doing this on the Mac...I actually quite like the MAC OS - very intuitive and as I really only use it for music, pictures, internet it should be OK. No plans for the chrome slats - I actually hated the look of those! And yes, I agree that the M6 NEEDS bigger wheels - my plan is to get those 20" ACS Forged wheels but they are just so expensive. I guess they would go on any BMW I may get going forward (with different spacers) so wouldn't necessarily be a waste of money when I sell the car??!?! |

Saw the first pic of the black one and was about to say ''dont do it'' but on your inter blue it does look good.
Still looks like an M6 which is nice.

Just the ACS wheels will sort out the stance...I've got to wear out the tyres before I consider buying them. That'll be in a fortnight then Have you had spacers on your M3? |
