I'm a member at this track. It rewards smooth drivers and punishes squids....tight and technical with elevation and camber changes, blind corners and uphill turn 4 is an awesome threshold to trail braking/heel-toe/decreasing radius blind corner from about 110mph. A fun track, the M3 does great there.

why? because some of us don't live anywhere near these shops or cities. if i were to go to something like this, i'd have my car teched at my shop. i'd think about driving down for an event like this because that's an awesome price for track time, but i'll tech my own car, thx. i've been wanting to drive HHR for a while, but i guess i'll wait.

let me clarify. As long as you have a shop sign the tech sheet then you're good to go.

Hello,

I am the person who is organizing this event. I am sorry if you feel safety is retarded. If you were the only one on the track that would be fine for you but there are other people out there as well who don't want someones wheel coming off or brakes failing and causing a crash. The reason we have dedicated shops is to eliminate the possibility of someone making up and signing their own tech sheet without actually looking at their car. Again this is for the safety of everyone out there. If you truly wish to attend and can verify via drivers lic. that you are indeed from another city besides San Antonio or Austin we can accomadate you by teching your car at the track the day of the event. I appologize if this is not what your used to but the integrity of the tech insp. must remain intact otherwise the system fails.

Harold.

there are a bazillion people that can verify i live in dallas in this southwest section alone. i get my work done at autoscope here in dallas, which is a very reputable shop. i'm not trying to avoid the system, i'm just saying that people that don't live in austin or SA can't necessarily patronize these preferred shops for something as simple as a tech inspection. and nowhere did i say safety is retarded, i'm all about that, but saying that only 2 shops are allowed to do a tech inspection seems a little frivolous to me. i can tell you right now that my brakes won't pass inspection, but that's something i can easily fix. now if i didn't care about safety, would i bother disclosing that?

Sounds great, I've been meaning to check out HHR, so I'm surely going to jump at the chance.

No problem. I am familiar with autoscope. I just never imagined people from Dallas or Houston would want to attend being that this is soo far away.

I'm still hoping for PFC 01/06 soon. You gotta come to the Enduro this weekend.

I got third at the PCA TT at Harris Hill, my best time was 1:29.6, slower than the Cayman but it's not a fair comparison for this track. First place was a full-on 993 racecar with aero, second a 997 GT3 so not bad for a stock sedan.
