19's on XI Your Help (Appearance)

Was just going to order summer wheels/tires and want your opinions before I hit the button. Don't plan on lowering anytime soon, will 19's look bad (fender gap issue) and does using 18's make this less noticeable? Love the lowered look but just got the car and live snow country with not the best roads and not into lowering at least not now.

It will look high whether you have 18s or 19s.

So if I switch from 225/45 R17s on a non SP to 18s (225/40 R18)or 19s then the fender gap is even more noticeable?

+1

There is an e92 out in front of the house now and it is an xi with 19"s, looks like a 4x4 since he doesn't have a drop yet. He did have 18"s and those were not as dramatic. He has the sport package on the car as well FWIW.

Well, here are some pictures, you can be the judge...

E90 xi with stock 156 wheels (16s)

E90 xi with 189 wheels (18s) - 225/40/18

E90 xi with 162 wheels (18s) - 225/40/18

E90 xi with 19s - 235/35/19 tires

For what it's worth, the xi with sport package doesn't have sport suspension.

Thanks for the pics SGxi. To me it looks like about the same gap in all those pics regardless of wheel size.

What looks better, the 189s or the 162s.

At the end of the day, I think the wheel design will also affect the optic on the car. Some wheels may appear to look bigger on the car than others

I personally like the 162s more than the 189s, but the 189s are also nice on an E90.

SGxi, thanks for the replies and the others as well, new to the Forum and this helps. What size tires do you have on the 19's?
