Dilemma.. CSL or 162''

well intersting choice..

but i'm not sure what to go for.

the 162 is very clean and luxury.. while the csl is very sporty, the spokes are so thin, you can barely tell what type of rims it is till you get cloose..

i have a choice to pick from one and purchase one.. just thought what you guys think.. I HAVE A WHITE E90

IMO, the E90 is a luxuriously designed car, so go with the sporty CSLs for balance.

well i said CSL because the 162 you will see everywhere.. but the csl is id say pretty rare compared to teh 162. Also there is quite a large weight diffrence, i mean the 162 is a heavy rim. Another thing is that the 162 can only be purchased from BMW, the csl however you can get at a performance parts shop so there is a bigger price diffrence. Also the CSl is 19 an the 162 is 18.

here is also something that have got me thinking..

i love the 162 style, because those rims make a white e90 stands out very nice and classy. i would prefer 18, the fact that i travel each weekend back to new orleans, and i dont think i would have to slam it in order for it to look nice.. and oh oh , the tires for RFT might be cheaper than 19.. not even sure if 19'' RFT even exist..

as for the csl, i really like it cause i never had 19'' before LOL, very different and sporty, might b lighter? could be.

i've been thinkin about this all week, i can't make a decision and order..

I have the CSL reps and it was about $1600 for wheels and tires shipped to my door. I got the staggered 19's. Do you have a 330 or a 325? I think if you have the 330, the CSL's will stand out more because of the chrome pieces that come standard.
just a thought

I debated the same a while back, but went with 162's. I had many reasons for doing so, but still like the csl's!!!

I still think the 162's have both the classy and sporty look to them. YOu can keep RF's on them.

CSL's are very sporty, but you cant have RF's on them, and I am hesitant owning 19" wheels due to the cmount of construction sites and all that around would make a bent rim that much more of a possibility with 19's...

Hey Long,

the set that you had on yours. Was it the real thing or reps? if it's the real thing, did the staggered rims rubbed?

Can't go wrong either way.

Some people like more of the aftermarket look of the CSL's
While some people like maintaining that OEM look.

I think thats what it boils down to, whether you want more of an aftermarket look or OEM look.

And yes, I know the original CSL wheels are OEM for the m3...but because they do not come on the E90 I consider them to be aftermarket.

I voted CSL for the record. I like 162's as far as OEM wheels go. And I think they look great when spinning, but they are common...
