Dealer wants $1600 for Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP. Normal? OEM dead after 17k miles.
I have a 2008 335i Sport (E92) with the 18inch sport wheels.
My dealer quoted me $1600 for the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZPs, it seemed a little high to me. Also, is it normal for the stock bridgestone runflats to go dead after 17k miles? The fronts seem to be in great shape and the outer ring on the rears looked ok, it's the inner ring on the rear tires where you can almost see the metal bands showing. Is this normal? My dealer claims it is but 17k makes me think maybe I have suspension issues to deal with now. I'd hate to put 4 new Michelins on there only to see them destroy themselves at a rapid pace. Any input? |

NITTO INVO's for 1300 from wheeldude or tirerack, kumho ecstas are pretty cheap performance tires also. about the runflats i have seen people change them for every MAX of 10K, my bro changed it 3rd time now.

Throw it on an alignment rack and check the camber of your car

Camber has got to be off. The price on the Michelins is a tad high but you're talking about
the dealer. You rear tires should definitely not look like that. |

Stupid question, I tried searching for it and it looks like my model/year I am ok but...
If I buy another brand from a non BMW dealership like Nitto non RFT's, will the sensor still work or is there something tricky I have to do there? |

i got 20k out of my stock bridgestones and I drive hard with 1 autoX. Definitely go with the Michelins over Bridgestones. I can't wait til this set (2nd) of RE050's wear out so I can snag some PS2's.

1600 is a bit high, but they will charge you 200 for mounting and balancing all 4 if you bring them in from tire rack + another 100 or so to remove them from the car and put them back on, so you are pretty close to the same price at that point for the extra hassle. Tire Rack or somewhere else is the way to go if you can find someone that can deal with runflats without destroying your rims - just be careful, lots of places will try to do them, but very few have the proper equipment to no destroy your rims!

As long as you keep the same rims, yes. Changing the tires will not matter with the TPMS
