265/35/19 on 10.5 wide rims?
is that stretching it a bit too much? Is it safe?

I'd go with 275/30. If you run strectched tires and much neg camper, you have a higher risk of a tire blow out of the inner tirewall.

Correct. And 265/35R19 is too tall anyway.

265/35/19 is too tall. If any thing, maybe you mean 265/30/19? 265/30/19 on a 10.5 is slightly stretched, but I wouldn't be afraid of running it. Most tire manufacturers recommend a 9.5" to 10.5" rim width range for a 265/30/19. If you have already bought the tires, just run them on the 10.5" wheels. It'll look fine if you have a slight drop and aggressive offset. If you still have the choice to chose tire sizes, I'd agree with remmib and go with a fatter 275/30/19 or even 285/30/19 if you can fit them in the wheel wells.

This is 265/30/19 on 19x10.5 rim. It's stretched a little. I'd go with 275/30/19 next time.
