e92 Jet Black - Rims Powdered or Painted ? 197's
I want to get my e92 Jet Black (2008) Rims, 197's, done in a Charcoal color ...
Should I have them painted & cleared, or powdercoated ? Which is better and why ? Should they be sandblasted or anything first ? Any and all info would be great. Anyone have pics of similiar done ? |

I have done some good reading about this. Definately go the powdercoating route. It will cost approx 85/wheel including sandblasting. The reason why the stock wheel has to be sand blasted is to have a solid contact between the coating and the metal of the rim. Powdercoating, if done right has superior strength over painted finishes.
some PS jobs I did of my car with various finishes: current(197): 197 powdercoated gunmetal: 197 TA style:
