Unadvertised lease specials available on 330i now...
Heehee, this lease sealed the deal for me. Right now, you can lease a 330i for 36 months with no money down and a security deposit for a 0.00195 money factor (~4.68% APR).
Because of this lease, I was forced to give up my klunky creaky loud annoying G35 for a new 330i. I can't begin to express how happy I am to be back in the BMW family.... I've owned a every version of the 3 series since the E30 Ed |

I agree with you completely about the g35 being loud and noisy.
Before settling on my second bmw, i test drove them all including the g35, is350. I found the g35 to be very noisy amd thus once again returned to bmw. Best move I have done since my dancing days !!! |

Opinion on G35
I'm seriously considering turning in my 330Ci for a G35 6MT coupe. Could you tell me more about your experience with the G35?
I've only spent a brief time behind the wheel of a G35, but it seems like a fun car and the 06 model (that I'd get) has a decent set of bells and whistles including a bluetooth hook-up for my wireless phone. I didn't notice it to be noisy when I drove it, except for the great engine growl. Can you tell me more about the noises you heard? How was the fuel economy and what else didn't you like? Thanks! |

My lease specifics
So, the deals for 3 series are .00195 with a security deposit for a 330i, and .00250 with security deposit for the 325i. It's a great time to rent a 330!
So before I get into my lease, know that my goals ultimately were least amount up front and lowest money factor. I actually preferred not paying a security deposit, so my money factor rose to .00210 (5.04% APR). The car: 330i, Titanium Silver, Premium, Sport, Sat Prep, Auto. MSRP: 42920. My price: 40375. BMW Financial adds 825 Acquisition fee for total of 41200 financed. The total monthly payments after the fact are 547.66 before sales tax, 592.84 after. I get 15000 miles/year. Drive off cost was 971.55 (first month + reg + some junk fees). I found the best price at Nick Alexander (in the 'hood!) through Ed Cronin, but as always, shop around and make them work for you! Finally, about that G35... It's fun when you first buy it, and the sedan is really cheap compared to a BMW, Lexus, Audi, etc. But sooner or later, the engine growl becomes old and annoying at freeway speeds, the shifter vibrates so much you wonder if the shift knob is gonna fall off, the creaks, squeeks, etc. with the engine becomes unwelcome music. It's got a great engine with lots of power, but the rest of the car is trash. It felt like driving a boat to me, even though it was only 8 inches longer than a BMW. It rides tall, and to me, it just didn't handle like the BMWs I owned before... After only one year, it felt like it was gonna fall apart on me any day. Nissan cost cutting really shows. I was torn between the IS350 and 330i, but I ended up going with the Bimmer mainly because I KNOW what a bimmer drives like, and this 330i was as great as any I've had before... Oh, and the BMWCCA rebate was a good reason too Ed Last edited by ehchan; 07-11-2006 at 11:42 AM.. |

I just finished driving a '04 G35 Sedan 6MT for little less than 3 years. I really enjoyed the car. I'm upgrading to a 2006 330i 6MT, SP, PP. The '06 330i is much more refined, the interior materials are a big step up, and the suspension is in a totally new league. Having said that, I think the G35 is a great car for the money. It's a bit rougher around the edges than the BMW, but man, it flies. The short throw shifter is also great, a bit notchier than the BMW, but much shorter throw. I compared the G35 to the E46 Bimmer in Sept. '03, and I felt the G35 was the better price/performance option. Three years later I'm making a few more bucks, a bit older, and I decided to go with the 330i. I pick it up on Friday, and I'm really psyched!

To keep the threadjack going, I tested a '06 G35 Sedan 6MT before I bought my 330i. I loved it and thought it drove great. But I knew I'd be happier with the 330i long term, mainly because the interior was much nicer. Both cars drove great IMO.

I found out about the lease special for July on July 1. Ordered my car in May with rate of .00245, .0002 higher than buy at that time. Took delivery of car on July 8 and made them reduce the rate so it would be .0002 higher than the buy rate in July. Saved me 20 bucks a month.

I'm driving a loaner '05 G35 auto while I wait for the 325 to arrive. It is ok but I find the following annoying about it
The engine is enthusiastic but coarse when really revved There are numerous little rattles etc.. The interior is a mish mash of different themes and styles and not that well presented The steering has weight but no real feel the car can hustle but it feels heavy, not too agile and rather reluctant to go play
