springs on a high mileage car?
a friend of mine wants to drop his 330i on H&R sport springs. the thing is he has 38K on his car. he said he'll eventually get shocks over summer. should I tell him just springs might be a problem since he already has 38k?

You need to tell him that if he wants to do it correct, change out the shocks also to match the springs.

He plans to get the matching shocks over summer. Its okay for him to run on springs for now right? His friend is installing so it won't cost him anything to install the shocks later on.

If he is definitely getting shocks by the summer than by all means toss in the springs for now. It took my 120k mile E36 shocks almost 2 years to blow out with H&R Race Springs. Your buddy should be fine for a few months.

The issue isnt so much that the shocks will blow out, but rather the car driving properly. But either way, the summer is not too far away.
