Satch Article (last page) in March Roundel

Did you guys catch that article? Pretty funny and well written..
It's all about the equipment we carzy gearheads take to the track from jacks, lifts, power wrenches, impact wrenches, calibrated torque wrenches, digital pressure gauges and so on... He was saying that basically the better the equipment you have, the more respect points you earn from your peers at the track !! Must read, very funny and well written...

It was also extra funny for me since at the last event Satakal was telling me not to screw up the calibration of his torque wrench ... Heck I didn't even know those things had to be calibrated..
Then yesterday I was looking at some impact power wrenches on Amazon just before I read that article...

When my dad told me about the cover of the most recent Roundel, I thought that Jbass was on the cover. Turns out it was the other 135 that was at Laguna in Jan. I desperately wanted to be in the background of one of those pics.

Good read. Reminds me of my jealousy towards Harold's torque wrench and impact gun. Soon I'll be broken on the habbit of showing up to the track with too much stuff. But, I don't see me ditching the $1.99 pen type pressure gauge. Best part about it is... no one wants to borrow it. No worries about sticky fingers.

Am I the only one that has let a noob borrow a torque wrench then promptly confiscate it after they declare thier intention to use it to take a wheel off?

Yeah I would think so, check out the cordless ones from Dewalt, 18v and up.

Make sure you guys invest in a split beam torque wrench as it does not need to be turned down after use. The spring loaded style if not turned down, will loose its calibration.

As for cordless electric impact wrenches, get one with the voltage rating of 14.4v(more torque), reversible, and make sure it has a spare battery pack!
