Hibernating M3

Well my M has been hibernating since December and already called the dealership about it and said I should be fine till my 15K service oil service or when my display says to change my oil. Anyway, just had my break-in service done early Nov. Just wanted to know since my car has been sitting for 4 months for winter without a heater in the garage if I should pay for a oil change anyway since its been sitting there for so long. Plus its reached -30's to plus temps in this crazy oil province. I know its synthetic oil by reading other threads but just wanted to know other ppl's thoughts if I should just drive it till the next recommended change or just get it changed now?

I wouldn't worry about it. Let me dealer look after the car. That's what you paid them for when you bought the car.

personally i would have gotten the oil change after the car got out of storage!
this way its fresh oil and any residue from the engine would be all drained and you would have new oil!

but thats what im doing, getting an oil change after i take the car outta storage...which is next week

Speaking of which, has anyone gone for an off-schedule oil change yet? I was quoted around $400. Is that right??

I checked with three different dealers over the weekend, they averaged around $420 (tax included). Oh well, guess I'm sticking with the scheduled engine oil change...

I think you might find that includes the engine air filter as that was called when Parkview initially called it up on the computer. The air filter was not changed on my car at that time.

Speaking of air filters...is anyone using K&N or any other performance intake for their E9x's??

That could be right. I only asked the dealers what an oil change would cost.

I had mine done and it was same price as Gearhead. The quote that they are giving you on the computer has BOTH oils on it, the upgrade $$$ for the 10W60 and the original oil cost. It is an error with the quote and they will adjust it once they review all the line items. I think it is $19 x 9 or 10 litres + filter + 30 mins +-.

I know, I when they quoted me $400 when the oil is less than $200, and so they read the line items to figure out why it was so much.

400 seems right... i think montreal's dealership is charging bout 350+tax... so works out to bout 400...

oil change for the Ms are a lot more expensive than the 335s

how are you guys getting your oil changes for so cheap ?? 250 is dirt cheap for dealership rates....

I think that sounds reasonable, because the 760s is around $200 something as well...so being an M and all 250 is reasonable!
