removing engine cover and intake channel..
I hope I dont get flamed for this.... here it goes. I removed two things from my car. which i hope i dont need.
1. plastic engine cover (in which i dont see any purpose aside from keeping the engine heat soaked) 2. air intake channel/duct which i removed, I am assuming i still get some fresh air from the duct from the kidneys.... am i just sucking in hot air? has anyone else done this? maybe i'll get some cheap pipe from home depot and see how well it works.... anything i should be aware of? |

WTF would you remove those things for?
A- Engine cover removed will not cause water to get into you ignition coils and cause running problems not to mention its extremely loud!!! b - What would be your purpose in removing an air intake piece? |

Guys,
I'm going to remove my trunk. It's heavy and only used for cosmetic purposes. Good idea? |

I would not risk taking that stuff off just to save a couple of pounds. Remember that these are German made cars and almost every part added on the car surves some pupose to the overall design/performance of the car.
Taking the cover off can increase the chance of water entering into your engine. It is just not worth it |

Okay I just got owned. lol its okay thanks, i'll be sure to remove my door next the reason why i removed the intake piece was to try to increase flow because i assumed the intake piece was limiting flow, trying to make a cheap ram air. =/ The car does sound louder w/o the piece but i'll throw everything back in =) thanks.

uhhhhhhhhhhh. if you really want to save weight... strip the interior, get some new wheels, and don't sit in your car
