Vehicle Status once it's off the boat...

So I called the 800 number today and it is telling me "Your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel." This is the same message I got when the car was in Bremerhaven waiting to get on the boat...I'm assuming that my car is awaiting a truck to bring it to the VPC and then to the dealer?

2 weeks?...Hmmmm...I wonder if my CA has been lying to me because when I ordered the car, he said I would get it by the end of this week. And I called last week and he told me the same thing.

once it gets off the boat it has to get trucked to the prep center, then prepped, put on a truck again, driven to the dealer and final prepped

it may be as short as a week if all goes well, but my money's on 2 weeks unless things are handled differently on the east coast

I hope it's the latter is the case. I'll be so pissed off if I have to wait another 2 weeks.

My car arrived at Port Hueneme, California, on 6/26. It was released to the trucking company on 6/29. With the July 4th Holiday, my CA expects the car to be in Portland, Oregon, by this Friday (7/7). Total time from ship arriving at Port to arrival at dealer would be around 1.5 weeks, although it would probably already by at my dealer if it wasn't for the holiday.

Regarding the 800 number and the "owners circle" website, they seem to be days or weeks behind the actual status of the vehicle. Assuming your dealer/CA is good, I see no reason to second guess their estimates. It would seems like a poor practice to give your customers unreasonable expectations so if they are the slightest bit experiences, their dates can probably be trusted and will be much more reliable than the 800 number.

I really hope that is the case and that the dealer didn't just tell me all of that because he wanted me to be eager to have him order the car from him and not another dealership.

So the dealer just called me...He's telling me it will take another 3-5 days before the car arrives at the dealership. I am so pissed off.

I'm pissed because the interest rate I got from the CU may reset to a higher rate after 7/8. When I ordered the car, the dealer said I would get the car before that date.

I have a sight draft, but the CU still needs the title info and all of that, so it does me no good.

kpn - as I said, I'm in the same situation as you with regard to keeping a loan rate. So far, even though my bank's rate has already changed dramatically (I locked in to 3.9% ), they have agreed to honor my rate even though my car is not due to arrive until late this month. Here's hoping your CU does the same!

Thanks...Btw, you got a great rate. The dealer just called...I thought he had good news....Just told me his latest report showed that it was supposed to be at the VPC on the 5th and the data hasn't changed yet. It better not have gotten delayed. I am fuming right now.

waiting is such a pain, my CA thought I was a bit crazy as I knew my car was a the dealership before she did!

we're all car stalkers here, best of luck and hopefully you'll see it soon
