Anyone else currently waiting to board a ship in Bremerhaven? I am on the East Coast, so it looks like the next ships to the US leave on July 6th and then July 8th (click here, then click "schedules"). Am I right in assuming that Baltimore is the port of exit for us in the DC area? Also, am I right in assuming that all of the ships on the list are automobile carriers?

If so, one of the July 8th ships arrives a lot quicker than the others (on the 20th), so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Trinidad.

no i think, our nearest Vehicle Processing Center is in northern new jersey, so our cars would be dropped off there, and then put on a carrier down to us; which is good, since a boat ride from NY to Baltimore would take longer.

Mine waited at the Bremerhaven for almost two weeks after production. keep them fingers crossed.

It said my vehicle was currently waiting for a shipping vessel and there is no shipping info at this time. Built in Munich factory.

Well, if NY is the port for DC, here's the schedule. Oddly, now the Trinidad is listed as departing on the 6th (before, it was the 8th), and arriving in NY on the 20th (before, it was going to be in Baltimore on the 20th but not stopping in NY first). I guess the schedules are a little bit fluid:

I'm just hoping my car makes it onto one of these ships. If, after it arrives in NYC, it takes another week and a half before the car gets to the dealer, that will be almost exactly 8 weeks from order date to pick up date. They told me 6-8 weeks when I ordered, so that's about what I expected, but I was hoping for closer to 6 than 8. As a result, I won't be able to do a Performance Center Delivery, but oh well. I can live with just the car.

I know the tracking info sticky says that it takes around two weeks from the time it arrives at the VPC and delivery... but it seems that the east-coast people in this forum have gotten it in a matter of days. i hope its days. mine arrives in NY on the 9th.

My car was completed July 3rd so hopefully it is or very soon will be waiting at the port

Anyone make it on the Trinidad? Looks like I didn't. I don't know how quickly the shipping company updates the info on its website, but I assume it is fairly quick -- and they have no record of my VIN.

Mine was completed about 10 days ago. The next ships leave 7/8 (arriving 7/25), 7/11 (arriving 7/24), and 7/13 (arriving 7/27). Continuing to keep my fingers crossed.

I dropped off my ED 330i last Thursday, the 29th. It's apparently in Bremerhaven, booked on the Courage. Looks like it'll hit Newark on the 24th. That seems like a LOOONG time away.

How do you know it's booked on the Courage already? Does a VIN search on the website tell you that?

If so, I'm even more distraught. I figured the VIN search wouldn't come up with a result until the ship had left the port. Does this mean I'm still several ships away? I think my car has been there since around the 29th, too.

Yeah, the VIN search at http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTrac...trackType=Auto shows that my car has been booked on the Courage. If your car is done and waiting at Bremerhaven, we'll likely be on the same ship, and probably the same truck from Newark to the DC area. Which dealer did you use?

I bought from Passport. When I go to the shipping website, my VIN results in "No tracking information is available for the Cargo ID you entered." Good to know that they update the cargo tracking even before the ship leaves the port, though -- now I won't feel so foolish checking the site every day even though I know a ship isn't necessarily leaving for a few days.

Keeping my fingers crossed. If I miss that one and it goes over 2 weeks waiting in Bremerhaven, I'll call my CA and see if he knows what's up.

Just checked (obsession, yes, but a familiar one to most here, I'm sure). :rocks: Status changed - my car was received at the terminal in Bremerhaven. Courage is scheduled to leave tomorrow. I hope yours made it on. I went through Joern at Passport, so if you made it onto the Courage, we should arrive the same day for pickup. Crossing my fingers for you....

Thanks, RoadRash, and congrats on making it on a ship! I do hope I can join you, but I did yet another VIN check this morning at W&W and still no info, so I shot a note to Peter at Passport. I'll see what he can find out. I am thinking I will not make the Courage, so now I will be hoping for the Manon, which leaves Thursday and arrives the 27th.

Assuming I make it on that ship, and then assuming I get my car within a week of its arrival in NY, that will be 8 weeks from order to delivery. If it takes 2 weeks after arriving in NY, that will be 9 weeks.

I shouldn't complain about a week or two, except that my wife is due to have a baby in early August. I don't want to have both new baby deliveries too close together!

Yes, or from the Owner's Circle website (oc.bmwusa.com). If you have not yet registered, then go ahead and register. I think you need your order # and an e-mail address.

Once you are on the site, go to Manage My BMW > Order Tracking. A little Flash animation will show you that you have a long wait ahead. Beware if you are still using dial-up that this animation could take a while to load. Once it has, click on "Review Order Detail" and you will see your VIN as well as your order details. I think you get your VIN once production begins.

Thanks! Unfortunately my VIN isn't showing anything on the W&W Site anyway. However I am doing the Performance Center delivery which cause a small delay so it probably doesn't matter too much

Sorry to hear about the car being delayed. Above all, congratulations on the real baby. Helps to keep things in perspective. I trust you've been obsessing about that delivery date more than about the Bimmer's.....
