Difference between KW V1 for E92 and E90

I know the E92 KW V1 can fit on the E90 and vice versa. But, what exactly is the difference between the 2? Does anyone know?

The only difference is that the E92 KW rear coilovers have a 35mm bump stop.

The E90 KW rear coilovers have a thicker 50mm bump stop.

This is probably because the E90 is expected to carry more rear passengers and luggage than the E92. The thicker bump stop accomodates for the extra weight.

Is that considered a good thing the E90 has a thicker bump stop? So its actually better to put a kw v1 made for E90 on a E92?

Compare the KW2 specs for e90 and e92 here.

I assume the same difference applies to KW1.

Probably does not make a difference unless you are carrying several heavy passengers and pieces of luggage in your rear.

Thicker bump stop also means shorter travel distance for the shock.

The E90 & E92 coilover for either model is the exact same components there are no differences. So if it says E92 on the box it works on your e90 or vice versa.

Then why does KW use two separate packagings for E90 and E92, if the contents are exactly the same?

KW's specifications (see PDF links above) clearly specifies a 50mm bump stop for E90 and a 35mm bump stop for E92.

I'm sure this makes no practical difference for 99.9999% of users.

I'm using an E92 kit for an E90 myself.
