Question re production #

Just a quick question for those who may know....I now finally have a production # for my 335i coupe. Does this mean that I also have an allocation slot from my dealer? I ordered my car back in June but my dealer only got 2 allocations for June which were ahead of me. I was waiting to hopefully get the first slot they got in July. June 30th I was told my production # and I'm hoping this means I have an allocation through my dealer and will soon get a build week #. Anyone know anything about how this works.

Did you call 1-800-831-1117 to see your vehicle production status?

If your Prod # was issued at the end of June that typically means that you have an Aug. build date. They issue the Prod #/allocations at the end of the each month for second month following.

Don't think I can track it from Canada, only US. In canada only dealer can track it.

Thanks for that info, hopefully this ends up being true but I'm guessing it won't be built till September as one of the two orders ahead of me is being built week of Aug 20th (BMRLVR's car).

Update Sept 29 '06: Got the car...It rocks!! Update Sept 08: Moved to Whitehorse and had to buy out of my lease. Miss the car a lot. Will return to BMW family in a couple of years.
