Odometer says 1739 miles, I-drive trip computer says 1725 miles.. what should I do?

I wasn't too bothered by the inaccurate odometer that others were reporting on this forum, until I start noticing it on my car as well. I was driving home late tonight and started twiddling with I-drive since I had nothing to do. I had the trip information on my assist window and that's when I notice that the odometer there reports that I have travelled 1725 miles but the regular console odometer says 1739 miles. I am almost certain that the i-drive number is correct since I too felt that my speedometer seems to be off. There's no way 70% of the cars I encountered are driving at 85mph on LA freeways. So what should I do? Is there a way for the dealer to re-calibrate my speedometer and reset the console odometer so the readings matches up with the i-drive odometer?

All BMW speedometers are optimistic about their speed. I'm not sure if it ties into the odo or not. I wouldn't worry about it unless you are concerned about extra depreciation or premature warranty termination.

Isn't the odometer in the I-drive trip computer a tripodometer, meaning it's resetable. So maybe at 14 miles that tripodometer in the I-Drive was reset.

That's what I think the issue is.

As far as BMW odometers, they are inaccurate above speeds exceeding 110mph.

Just read from posts from bimmerfest. Apparently I was wrong. The trip computer can be reset, and its not the odometer. I've never reset it before. Guess the dealer reset it before releasing the car to me. The car had low miles and hence the discrepancy. Boy do I feel like a dumas*.

Somebody mentioned that the speedometer may be slightly off, but the odometer should be accurate.
