i know its a vauxhall - but i like the way it looks - the sporty versions anyhow!
Its becoming tougher out there as the main stream car companies are putting out some nice looking cars. Also liked the rear window on the citroen C5 ... driving position is god awful though!

That photo looks nothing like the cars I've seen on the road. The car in the photo is lowered with 19''s.
The cars I'm seeing look as dull as an old Vectra, jacked up suspension that would be at home on a Landie and small skinny 16'' wheels. Personally I prefer the Mondeo. How can the Insignia be COTY when it's been beaten by the Mondeo and Passat in recent magazine tests? |

Mag pics look good, but as we know they've been PS'd a tad. I've only actaully seen on in the flesh, from a distance, in a dealer forecourt.... not impressed as it was, as above, jacked up, wee wheels etc.
I also don't like the Mondeo, same issues.... on stilts and no style. Mind you, if they have a lowered, big alloy version I may change my mind. Anyone seen one in real life that looks good? BMW, Audi, Volvo and Saab for me, I like 'em all.

What the others have said above is exactly my sentiments also......
I`ve owned a VXR Vectra, which was a quick car, and I was watching with interest when the new Insignia was launched. From ones I`ve seen on the road so far, I must say that it has managed a rare feat, ie: it actually looks worse in the "flesh" than it does in the pics, which is the complete reversal of what happens with most other cars.

No, not a chance Carl. Mine was the 280bhp one as well, and it was possibly comparable to the standard 330d, but not now that mine`s mapped.

The Insignia is in the same league as other recent cars that looked good at a motorshow, press photos or TV advert. Then on the road looked really strange.
Citreon C5 - all over strange, jacked up front end, little wheels Honda Accord - as above Jag XF - OK back end, weird headlights Has anyone noticed how recent cars introduced have jacked up front ends. Even an LCI 3 series I saw in a dealership today had a massive gap between its 17'' tyres and the wheel arch. Is this needed to lift the front end for pedestrian collision safety or for impacts over speedbumps and pot holes? |

Sometimes I wish I had a jacked up front end stopping for speed bumps isn't funny when you have a massive queue behind you On a serious note I imagine it's something that is to do with pedestrian, I believe pop up headlamps are also banned??? Also people seem to like cars that are "high up" don't get why myself but wach to their own!

its in real life, saw a black 1 yesterday I'm not a fan.
Did see a new sport Avensis at a toyota garage last week and it looked pretty nice, well better than the Vauxhall (which isn't hard!) obviously not as good looking as the 3 er not in a million years! |
