Programmable Options for Car/Keyfob
I know that this question has been asked before, but I need to double check one last thing?
Which options can be programmed w/o iDrive, and which can only be programmed by iDrive and the Dealer? My CA has requested I let him know since the vehicle will be ready soon, but haven?t been able to determine which can be programmed by which?I know that DRL?s, auto lock/unlock and things like that can be programmed using the stalk, but what options can be programmed that?s only available for iDrive equipped cars? ANYONE, that can help can be my friend! :rocks: ________ Wild_Lianza Last edited by HappyG; 05-17-2011 at 02:16 AM.. |

basic profile settngs functions are covered by OBC stalk. Fromt he top of my head, i-drive adds more customizeable features such as programmable HVAC parked venitlation, auto-headlights sensitivity, OEM alarm parameters and a number of other stuff I can't recall or know (I don't have i-drive)...
Perhaps idrive owners can help the guy out...

your CA should have all the answers to your question...if he doesn't, well...at least mine does
anyways....keyfob can memorize seat position, radio settings, climate settings...I think thats it. and for programming...everyone gets the SAME "US Spec" settings (another words; your car can't do anything different from mines)...The End

better yet...I think the pdf of the owner's manual available somewhere around here...is specifically for i-drive. That should answer all your questions

I downloaded the pdf version of the manual, and it seems that there are a LOT of things that you can change if one ordered the vehicle with iDrive...for us poor people, we have to just settle for what the dealer's giving us.
My CA told me that if it can't be programmed using the stalk for non-iDrive cars, they can change the other settings using the dealer's OBDC....basically since you don't have idrive to makes changes, only the dealer can do it through the brain of the car. Makes sense...I'm reading over all of the functions/capabilites right now. I'll let you guys know if maybe there's some sort of master list. Thanks for the help from those that responded! ________ LovelyWendie Last edited by HappyG; 05-17-2011 at 02:17 AM.. |
