Focus RS on Fifth Gear ...

Will be very interesting

http://fifthgear.five.tv/

Plato gets his hands on the Focus RS.

Still sorely tempted.

Don't miss this one Carl !

Hi Dave, I am looking forward to that then. The RS does look good. Hope it turns out to be a corker. On sale March isnt it?

There has been a slight delay for deliveries as the main factories have been pegging back on all output (holidays and credit-crunch) - so not exactly sure when the first ones will arrive.

Interesting to see what Plato thinks ....

I had my literature arrive in post this am - not much to read but it does look good - shame it looks so damn cheap and plastic on the inside though. Dealer has told me they are not getting theirs now until April and were vague as to when in April. Will watch 5th gear with interest!!

Lets pray it's Plato or Tiff driving it and not Vikki or the fat bloke as that would be a waste of a good test. I do not care for either of their opinion or rate their quality of review.

I struggle to watch Tiff Needel without wanting to throw something through my television.

Granted, he can drift, but am I the only person that thinks he's a total pecker?

I'd much rather his airtime be split between Johnny Smith and Jason Plato and Tiff's presenting 'skills' be limited to a bit of drifting during the titles.

With refernce to the Focus RS I'm guessing (hoping) it goes to Plato and he;s going to love it. I will be very surprised if the Focus turns out to be anything but amazing....

By the video clip shown on the first link I posted, it looks like it is Plato doing the driving.

Sounds excellent in the clip Exotica posted. Corners well.

I'm wavering ......

Got to be honest, im with you Sheps - i think Tiff is a completely plonker too - yes he can drive but he really lacks personality and is a crap presenter - wheres some good watches - but still a bit of a nob!! Funnily enough i used to work with Tim Shaw many years ago up in Sheffield - he was a dj on Magic AM for an eMap radio station called Hallam - he was a real nutter and ended up getting sacked for one of his shows - i was an in-house lawyer but used to sit in his studio for hours - funny guy!!

Looks great - the green in the RS is gonna be the new orange, like the ST!

Is it me though, or does the passenger door trim look well dodgy (19 secs in)

Im not sure about the green - if i go for one it will be white. That trim does look a bit dodgy but then so does the whole interior from what ive seen - typical Ford cheap plastic shite - the biggest let down looks like the steering wheel.
Does anyone know what channel number the Sky Motoring channel is on?? Hope its not a pay to view channel?

Dave, it a superb car, bet it does not go quicker round a track than an M3.

Great car I really want to drive one. I might pop into my local stealers.

0-100mph in 14secs.

I've been making quite a few enquiries too ...

Would be a great wee summer car when I am back in the UK Just tuck it away for fun. Next to my other RS.

Especially as it not only seems to be matching the hype but exceeding most people's expectations on what can be done with FWD.

Yes, but I don't live anywhere near a track, and all the reviews say how it excels on a back road blast - and I DO live on back roads Where our big leaden RFTs are shite.
