Where to get protective plastic sheets for hood/bumper
I noticed at the last track event that a couple people had the white protective plastic stuck to their hoods and bumpers. From what I could tell ilts the same material they use on cars during transport.
Does anyone know where to get this? |

Just use clear contact paper. It works like a charm, super thick and actually protects against rock chips (unlike painters tape). And on top of it all, its VERY cheap and cant be seen in photos.
A somewhat closeup of how it looks on the car. From far away. Can barley even be seen. |

It actually came off a lot easier then i expected, but it is a pain in the ass to put on because its thicker. Then again i dosen't really matter how it looks once it goes on because if you take a few steps back, you wont even notice it anymore.
I can only speak for the contact paper i used, but mine came off with no paint damage at all. It was probably a good 90 degrees that day and even with the sun blazing down on us it still came of quiet cleanly. I know plenty of others who use contact paper and they have had no problems as well. |

I either picked it up from Lowes or Home Depot. One of them didnt have clear contact paper so i had to go to the other. I cant recall which one it was, but try both and 1 of them should have it. |

Sounds like its worth a shot. If you still have the roll, mind looking at what brand name it is? Since you didnt have any residue issues, I'd like to pick up the same product.
Thanks! |

Its by Con-tact. Called Clear Transparent. It says on the product:
"Non-yellowing, won't fade. Remove cleanly. Non-glare surface. Acid free, archival safe." hope this helps. |
