BMW Sport Suspension vs. BMW Performance Suspension?

As I was messing around on building an 09' 335i Sedan, I know you get the sport suspension with the sport package but I also notice that there is a BMW performance suspension that appears to be different than the sport suspension. Anyone have any experience with the BMW performance suspension? Does the car ride stiffer as I would imagine and does it sit lower?

As I have read, the performance suspension is a step up from the sport suspension.

Its lower than sport, and a fair bit stiffer. I just installed it on my car a month or two ago.

Thanks everyone! That all makes sense. Do you know if we can order a brand new 09' E90 335i that way or does the performance suspension have to be installed after the car arrives in the USA?

I think it is a dealer installed option.

Since I opted out of the ZSP due to the 18" RFT's, I'm very curious about this. The site lists it at $695. Has anyone had this dealer installed and can give me a rough estimate on total cost?

Definitely take a gander at Mr 5's thread here.....a lot of great information posted with the kit he purchased from us.

Feel free to shoot me a PM with any additional questions you may have. We do have the kit on special here with the rest of the new BMW Performance line!

Whatever you do, do NOT opt out of the ZSP, you will regret it! Do what everyone else does that isn't happy with the RFT (incl. me): swap them for Non-RFT or even better, use it as a justification to buy new rims and tires

Does the M-SPort package come witht he regular nsports suspension or the performance suspension? I think it is regular Sport suspension (which will be good enough for me when I order).

Pre 6/05 2006 325i Non-ZSP

So I'm confused but very interested here! It appears as though there is a new performance suspension kit from BMW for the e90 that includes sway bars, dampers but still no springs. The pkg retails at over 1k vs. the $500-$600 kit Mr. 5 so kindly reviewed.

Here's BMW's description:

Performance Suspension

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the heart of performance is handling. And how well a BMW handles is directly influenced by its suspension. BMW Performance Suspension lets you savor every curve and every corner like never before. This new aggressive package is up to 25 mm lower and increases spring rates up to 48%. Anti-roll bars are 26.5 mm in the front and 12 mm in the rear. (PN: 33 50 0 444 832)
$1,167.00

Additional springs required. Purchased separately. Consult your BMW Center for more details.

http://accessories.bmwusa.com/ItemVi...&productId=846

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So the big questions are as follows:

1). What is the difference between this set up and PN: 33 50 0 429 574 ? Going by the descript it appears the car would be even lower with this pkg and potentially stiffer.

2). If no real difference between the dampers is it implied that the sway bars drive the cost up an extra $4-$500 bucks?

3). Isn't 26.5 mm front sway bar the stock thickness for my non-sport 06 325i? And 12 mm for the rear, what gives. I'm hearing 14mm (M-Tech?) is a good compromise.

4). With this kit will I need additional parts i.e. front guide supports PN: 31 30 6 775 098 etc...?

Based on all the positive feedback here I am very interested in working through Tischer to purchase a full pkg. However I need somebody to help me answer these questions before pulling the tax return trigger.
