Unhappy proper oem battery... AGM or regular?

hey guys,

Tried to charge my '07 MZ battery today after its been stored in the cold winter for about a month and a half... battery is having hard time accepting charge...

So i took the part # from the battery which was: 61217553951. This number doesn't come up anywhere for a MZ at realoem.com.

Does everyone else have this type of battery? And is it an AGM or regular lead-acid battery?

Thanks!

(It doesn't say AGM on it but the link in realoem.com says "AGM Battery".)

^why not pick up a battery from the mini dealers. Its the same battery they use in the CSL and will save u some weight and shouldnt cost as much as a bmw one.
Or just go to a auto shop they have guides, lists ect

Get the mini cooper battery like The__J__Factor said. Cheaper and lighter. Many people on the E46M forum have gotten it. Simple plug and play and no extra bracket needed.

Garage List
P/n 61 21 6 924 021, $198 Msrp

FYI all 2007 and 2008 E86 Z4M Coupes are outfitted with a sealed Valve-Regulated Lead-Acid (VRLA) Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) battery: http://www.remybattery.com/sla_gellcell_maintenance.pdf
The OE battery available in the US is made by Exide under BMW P/N 61 21 6 924 021 with an MSRP of $198.00.
An acceptable 70Ah Deka 9AGM48 substitute is available from East Penn Manufacturing http://www.eastpenn-deka.com/
I would think with your Coupe still being under manufacturer’s warranty that the battery should be covered.

Looked it up- Mini battery. It weighs 15lbs less on average and is about 100-120 vs 170 for OEM. I will probalby do this mod.
